Simon Says: Try To Resist On The Monday Challenge

newchallenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the We Can See Clearly Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to

TRY TO RESIST

Definition: Resist techniques in art use the incompatibility of two mediums to create layered effects with color and texture.
There are so many products that we can use to create a resist, Embossing PowderCrayonsMolotow PensMasking Fluids and many more. We will be looking forward to seeing what you use!

I started with a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper and heat embossed some of Tim Holtz Wildflower Stamps using Clear Embossing Powder before inking with a selection of Distress Inks. I then used a hot iron and scrap paper to remove the melted powder.

I then repeated the process leaving ghost like flowers in the background. I then randomly stamped script text and spritzed with Picket Fence Distress Spray and splattered with Dylusions Calypso Teal Ink before using Embossing Paste and a Dot Fade Stencil to complete the background.

I used some Corrugated Card, from a Textured Surfaces Pack, smudged with Gesso for layering. I stitched around the edges and added a die cut Wildflower, embossed with White Embossing Powder, doesn't it look lovely! :-) I am really happy with how this turned out!

So now it's YOUR turn!

House Mouse 'Making Prints'

Hi all, this week on the  House Mouse and Friends Challenge there is a fabulous blog hop. I am sitting this one out but there are fabulous prizes and lots of inspiration so you will need to hop on over to the Challenge Blog for more info ;-)

The theme is

USE A STENCIL
of course you must also use a House Mouse, Gruffie or Happy Hopper image and you can always choose the Anything Goes option.

I love stamps that are good for many occasions and this House Mouse Making Prints is exactly that, you just write what you like, PERFECT! This really is the only stamp you will ever need, just sayin' ;-)

The lovely peeps at Stampendous sent me a lovely Quatrefoil Dreamweaver Stencil and I used it with Distress inks to create a simple but gorgeous background.  The Mini Bird Crazy Things and Coordinating Die Set fit these little critters too! YAY! :-)
Doesn't he look cute with his party hat ;-)

Before you go, did you see my new blog header? My lovely mousie sister teamie Torrey made that for me! Isn't she clever!! THANK YOU TORREY XXX
